TRIATHLON GEAR
2XU WETSUIT
2XU (pronounced 2 times you) Triathlon Wetsuits came into the US triathlon scene a few years ago featuring their industry-first Roll Bar region to improve the buoyancy in the core of the wetsuit.
Since then, 2XU has continued to push the envelope of triathlon wetsuits. They have employed basic principles that equate to amazingly flexible and buoyant wetsuits. Every suit in the line offers 40 cell neoprene, which is the most buoyant neoprene available for the front buoyancy panel.
This is combined with the most flexible materials and lining available for the shoulders and underarms. They also feature a floating zip panel and a one-piece shoulder to wrist panel - all of which equates to 2XU wetsuits having the best possible flexibility. No colored panels to reduce flexibility, no seams over zips and no hype, just high performance materials in the best possible places. Simple ideas and simple design enable incredible performance.
PROJECT:X / X:1 & X:2
With a 40-cell neoprene X Flex Panel across the front, 2XU’s X:1 is engineered to arm the swimmer with unparalleled propulsion by facilitating a more effective body roll and flex through the water. Designed to support both the beginner and advanced swimmer, X Flex works with the natural movement of the body in water; directing hips to perform more efficiently in the swim.
V:1 & V:2 VELOCITY
V:1 Incorporating 4 new propriety creations from 2XU including High Velocity Strakes for improved hydrodynamics and increased forward motion, Aquatic Membrane Arms for neutral buoyancy and greater feel of the water, Concave Water Entrapment Zones on the forearm and finally the Propulsion Panel on the lower leg for greater power out of your kick.
V:2 The super slick new V:2 takes the award-winning 2XU V:1 to even greater heights. Upgraded for 2011 to feature Titanium Alpha Coating for enhanced blood flow in the lower limbs, the wearer will enjoy a faster swim to bike transition than ever before. The V:1 & V:2 also feature 2XU’s outstanding Roll Bar, Floating Zip Panel and Transition Panels.
R:1 Race (Also offered as Rental)
R:1 features 3D print Catch Panels and 2XU’s proprietary Roll Bar, Floating Zip Panels and Velocity Strakes. Engineered from world-class materials, the R:1 also comes with 1.5mm Underarm/Shoulder Paneling for maximum flexibility and a 4.5mm Front Buoyancy Panel. With a two-year warranty and the price point of a mid-level suit, the R:1 represents exceptional value.
T:2 TEAM
ST:2 SLEEVELESS TEAM
Boasting 2XU’s new Silicone X Skin (SXS) coating alongside world class Yamamoto neoprene, the new ST:2 promises to outperform all other sleeveless suits on the market. Additional proprietary 2XU features include Roll Bar, 520% Stretch Lining, Floating Zip Panel and 40 Cell Front Buoyancy Panel for efficiency through the water. Graduated Velocity Strakes across the chest offer heightened body positioning and streamlined tracking through the water like never before. The ST:2 represents exceptional value.
BlueSeventy Goggles
Hydra-Vision: Wide view curved lens provides extended vision and clarity compared to regular lenses. The latest soft frame technology goggle with emphasis on all round visibility and improved dynamics in the water. The curved wide vision lens makes this the perfect crossover goggle for pool to open water. Comes in mirrored or non-mirrored lenses.
Siren: The female face has many differences to a male’s and with this in mind, a generic goggle sometimes does not work.
Element: Combines the comfort, all round visibility and fit demanded by the open water swimmer with the low-drag small socket feel a competitive pool swimmer expects.
BlueSeventy Accessories
Neoprene Cap: Flexible central panel enhances fit along with the 3mm Yamamoto neoprene maximizes warmth and comfort for those cold water swims.
Toe Covers: Have anti-abrasion soles and taped cleat hole increases durability along with glued and blind-stitched to eliminate wind-chill and reduce moisture entry.
Swim Gloves: Offering open water specific training, webbed fingers allow increased resistance training, along with form fitting neoprene insulates against the cold.
Swim Socks: Form fitting neoprene sock prevents injury to sole of foot when walking on rocky surfaces, insulates against the cold and has a longer length to reduce water entry.
BlueSeventy Wetsuits
Just like people who need different running shoes designed to work with their biomechanics, no two swimmers are the same, requiring wetsuits that are designed to address your biomechanical individuality.
**Positive Buoyancy wetsuits have zones that focus on increasing buoyancy in the lower body by lifting the legs and putting the swimmer in a more streamlined position.
*Natural Buoyancy wetsuits are designed to accentuate good body position. If you swim with good position, hips raised and legs aligned, then your wetsuit should have high overall buoyancy throughout the suit, lifting your body higher in the water and reducing drag.
*Helix
The Helix is built for the natural buoyancy swimmer. Made of highly flexible materials produce an unrestricted range of movement while giving a higher overall body position in the water. The paper thin, water resistant permeable material allows the athlete to feel water against the inside of the forearm, but the second skin fit doesn’t allow seepage into the rest of the arm.
Two generations of Helix have delivered the ultimate swimming experience. Olympic champions, world champions and the world’s fastest swimmers and triathletes have placed the Helix in a class of its own.
Reaction & Reaction Long John
The Reaction has been significantly upgraded using superior material composition and now represents a suit possessing technical qualities of similar suits twice the price! Designed with a unique air-cell front panel to improve warmth by creating pockets of air within the suit without reducing buoyancy.
Synergie+
Complimenting the natural buoyancy of Reaction and Helix while providing better biomechanics and faster swimming. Designed for swimmers seeking a neutrally balanced suit where comfort and flexibility are paramount.
Fusion 250 (Positive Buoyancy)
This new introduction is a perfect match for those who are just starting out. The Fusion has been manufactured to represent all that is needed in a wetsuit for a swimmers initial foray into the open water. The Fusion gives swimmers the initial confidence and buoyancy they need.
