Sponsorships
Sammamish Valley Cycle is proud to sponsor these clubs and individuals:
Chris Ragsdale
Chris is the four time winner of the National 24 hr Challenge and current record holder with a mileage of 502.6. He has been Ultra racing for four years now and has won and set course records at many of the events he has entered. In 2009, Chris won the grueling Furnace Creek 508 race. Chris splits his time training with the Seattle International Randonneurs and with his family and new son Caden.
Monilee Atkinson
Monilee discovered the sport of cycling in 2001, and quickly developed a love for cycling, especially in the dirt! She ventured into the mountain bike racing scene in 2002 by doing some team races. Her passion for the sport has grown steadily and she is now into all types of cycling from road to downhill, but puts most of her energy and time into cross-country riding and racing. Monilee started her racing career doing the shorter 'olympic distance' (2.5hrs) races and worked her way up from Sport to Elite in 2 years. She continued to race Elite for two years until a move across the continent and into a different country (from Canada into the USA) in the fall of 2006 prompted her to try something new. Endurance racing - in the form of 24hr solo mountain bike races. She completed her first 24hr Solo in the spring of 2007 and qualified for Worlds. She went on to place 4th at Worlds that season. The rest, as they say, is history. She continues to compete in endurance mountain bike events at a Pro/Elite level and is looking forward to a full season in 2010. Team Group Health
Team Group Health is a competitive women’s cycling team based in Seattle. Our objective is to promote women’s health, fitness and competitive spirit through bicycle racing. We’re one of the largest women’s cycling teams in the Pacific Northwest; with approximately 80 members, our team is a veritable force whenever the rubber meets the road, the track and the dirt.
Our goal is to promote and develop the sport of cycling among women in the PNW. We encourage teammates to participate in local, regional and national cycling competitions. We’re passionate about investing time to educate and train our members, as well as the community at large about the sport of cycling. You’ll also find us volunteering in the cycling community and at cycling-related events. Our focus on women allows us to direct our resources and energies on achieving new horizons for women in the sport of cycling, as well as differentiating ourselves amongst other NW teams.
Seattle International Randonneurs
Are you an STP or RAMROD veteran? If you have done a century or a double century and are looking for the 'next' challenge, this may be it. You need not be fast to be successful; in fact, the best randonneurs are steady and consistent and know how to budget their energy.
If you’re interested in the challenge of long-distance, unsupported bicycling, and interested in joining the Seattle branch of an international family of unique recreational cyclists, read on. Perhaps you’ll join the Seattle International Randonneurs in France in August 2007 for the next Paris-Brest-Paris, the longest running international cycling event in the world.
